The company was first established by Celestine Joseph Keane in the early 1900s, and when Mr. Keane retired in 1951, he sold the business to Sydney Thomson, a Geelong local, who had ambition and determination to expand the company. Due to the existing long standing reputation of cjkeane&co. Sydney Thomson kept the original company name. 

Over five decades, Sydney Thomson headed the ever expanding family business from its one office located in Ryrie Street, Geelong to its current head office in Fenwick Street. During this time,Sydney and his son Laurie Thomson opened ten other cjkeane&co. real estate offices across Geelong, the Bellarine and Apollo Bay.

cjkeane&co. continues to be a Geelong family owned and operated agency, with 6 independant offices, and is directed by Laurie Thomson and family.
